What is a Domain Transfer?
Every domain is registered by a provider (registrar) with the corresponding
NIC (network information centre). The provider also looks after the technical
issues of the domain.
If you transfer your domain to SYU Media The domain entry
in the NIC's database has to be edited to allow us to edit your nameserver
entries and thus actually host your domain.
When transferring your .com, .net or .org domain you may also change the owner
of the domain. This change has to be done by the registrar.
.co.uk and .org.uk domains administration is limited to nameserver entries.
Changes of the domain owner have to be made directly with the NIC (Nominet).
(Domains which were registered directly with Nominet do not have an associated
registrar. In that case Nominet has to assign a TAG (SCHLUND) first.)
